How do you respond to these statements? Are they True or False? Why?

 

Life has no meaning. 

Really? Hatch, match and dispatch. Is that all there is? No, God loves you. He has a plan for your life and he wants you to live it to the full. To do this, you need to reach out to him. God allowed his Jesus to die in your place and take the rightful punishment you deserved for a self centered life that has no place for God. To live a life full of meaning you need to know what God has planned for you.

Evolution is a theory.

Yes, it is a theory, and we do see things evolve all around us, but that does not mean two nothings collided together in the middle of nothing and 'What do you know' here we are today. Science simple cannot answer some of the basic questions about how life and the cosmos started. The more you think about life, and look into the complexity of things, the more you can see a design in it all, let alone the planet and our universe. God's hand is in all things and his design was perfect.

Money is everything. 

Money is certainly something, but is it everything? Surely chasing wealth is a good thing? The bible tells us clearly that this is not the case, in fact it says that "The love of money is a root of all kinds of evil." 1 Timothy 6:10. The key words are 'the Love of money' and they remind us that if money has become your main goal, it will lead you away from all that is true and good in God's plan for your life.

There is no God.

If there is no God, there is no true forgiveness. No true forgiveness means there is no hope.  Our hope is in a real and living God. Look around you, look at the detail. God made this earth for us to enjoy and care for, he made it perfect. We are the ones who are making a mess of it. The Bible says "You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart."

Jesus is God.

The Bible is clear about this. God exists in three persons, God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. They are the same and are one.  Therefore yes, Jesus is God. The bible says, "But these things are written that you may believe that Jesus is the the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name" John 20:31.

Sin is Serious

How seriously you take sin shows how seriously you take God. Sin is not just a trivial thing, i.e. breaking a few rules and saying a few lies. Sin is breaking Gods law. The ten commandments give us a clear idea about his expectations. As a society we demand punishment for people who harm others yet we avoid thinking that God expects punishment for breaking his laws. Jesus has already paid that price on your behalf, if you are willing to accept this. 

The Bible can be trusted.

The Bible is God's word. People who read the Bible know this to be true for themselves. How? When you read God's word and ask him to open your eyes to what he wants you to see, you will read it in a completely different light. God answers prayer

Prayer is our way of talking to God. He wants us to share our sadness and our happiness with him. God wants our lives to be lived in a way that pleases him and in this, he always listens to our sincere prayers. God's answer may not always be what we want and when we want it, but he does answer. Christians know that when they look back over their lives they can see the way God has answered their requests and heart felt pleas. If there is something you want to ask about or for, first believe, then ask your question.

Heaven is for good people.

Only good people go to heaven right? Well no, the opposite is actually true. Heaven is for people who realise they have fallen short of God's standard for our lives (The bible calls this sin) and have accepted the forgiveness that he offers you, through Jesus.
